Theaters in Damascus

Theater is the window from which Syrian thought can look at the world to express the colors of social life and to present social relations and ideals of the Syrian culture.

Al Qabbani Theater: One of the oldest theaters in the city. It is in 29th.of May St. It belongs to the Ministry of Culture. It presents serious shows of world literature.

Al Hamraa Theater: A Serious house that belongs to the Ministry of Culture.

Workers Union Theater: One of the largest theatres in the Damascus. Opposite Hotel Meridian. It presents Arab and local plays in addition to many local musicals performed by Syrian folk groups.

Theater of March 8th .In al Jaberi Street. Originally a cinema house turned into a theater by the Defense Ministry.

Damascus International Fair Theater: In the fairgrounds .It presents local and international groups and shows in the season of the Damascus International Fair.
